2. Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide when you contact us, submit a website form, request a repair or valuation, use a business enquiry form, or check a repair or 28 Day Buyback record. This may include your name, email address, telephone number, company details, message, device or item details, and service reference information.
Our website and hosting systems may also process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, security logs, and cookie or local-storage data. - To operate repair and buyback tracking features.
- To administer accounts, orders and customer service where those features are used.
- To keep business, transaction and warranty records where required.
- To maintain website security, diagnose faults and prevent misuse.
- To comply with legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.
4. Our lawful bases
Depending on the circumstances, we rely on steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting Geekys and serving customers, or consent where the law requires it.
5. Sharing information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share only what is necessary with trusted providers that support our hosting, email, website, IT and service systems; with professional advisers; or with authorities where required by law. The repair and buyback trackers are delivered through a Google Firebase-hosted service.
6. International processing
Some technology suppliers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we expect appropriate legal safeguards to be used as required by UK data protection law.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose collected, including customer service, warranty, accounting, fraud prevention and legal requirements. Retention periods vary according to the record and service involved.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar storage where needed for website operation, security, account or basket functions, and embedded service trackers. Read our Cookie Policy for more information.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your information, restrict or object to processing, and receive certain information in a portable form. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it. These rights can depend on the circumstances and legal exemptions.
To exercise a right, contact hello@geekys.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Complaints
Please contact Geekys first so we can try to resolve any concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet service is completely risk-free, so please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through general enquiry forms.

Our pages may link to or embed services operated by other organisations. Their own privacy information applies when you use those services.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, suppliers or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page.
